Language exchange in Guildford

If you live, work or study in Guildford and want to practise a language face to face, Nearly Fluent can help. It is a free app that matches you with people nearby.

How it works

1. Sign in with your email and make a short profile.
2. Choose the languages you speak and the ones you are learning.
3. Browse members near you and say hello, or join a language table.
4. Meet in a public place, such as a café.

Tables

Language tables are small groups, usually around four to six people, hosted by members. You book a place in the app and pay only for your own drink. Open the Meet tab to see what is on. If there is nothing in Guildford yet, you can host one yourself; our host guide takes you through it.

Who it suits

• Students and staff at local universities who want to practise outside class.
• People who have moved to Surrey and want to meet locals.
• Anyone returning to a language they used to speak.

Safety

Nearly Fluent is for adults aged 18 and over. Your email is never shown to other members, and we show your area, never your address. Read the community guidelines.
